Private & NHS Eye Care in St Neots

Eye Health and Vision

Your eye examination will last for approximately 40 minutes, to allow time for your optometrist to thoroughly examine your eyes and vision.

During this time, you will be asked to complete a series of tests which are all designed to assess your visual status (whether you might be long or short-sighted) and eye health.

Advanced Eye Examination Technology

You will also have the opportunity to have retinal photographs taken, alongside 3D scans as part of your examination. Our digital retinal camera allows us to see a much wider section of the back of your eye, which consequently enables a thorough check of your eye health. Many eye conditions, including glaucoma and macular degeneration, can be detected in the very early stages by retinal screening. This, in turn, allows faster and more effective treatment for you.

Once your examination is complete, your optometrist will explain their findings to you, including any updates to your prescription that might be required. They’ll also be happy to answer any questions you have, as well as taking the time to recommend suitable products for your needs, wants and lifestyle.

OCT Scan

Ocular Coherence Tomography is an advanced eye scan for people of all ages.

Similar to ultrasound, OCT uses light rather than sound waves to illustrate the different layers that make up the back of the eye.

Our particular 3D OCT unit captures a digital photograph of the surface of the eye at the same time and this can be cross-referenced across any areas of concern.
